Logitech G29 Review
I think Logitech has done a decent job on making this wheel and pedal set. At around 270.00 it is relatively affordable. And places well with other FFB wheel sets that are available to this market segment. It provides FFB that is good enough to let the driver know what the car is doing. You can tell when you are at the limits of grip and what you need to do to correct slides and brake lockup. It also provides good FFB queues when rolling over bumps, curbing, rumble strips. It comes in a clean attractive package. And the wheel has plenty of buttons for the most common tasks that a driver will need them to perform. I like that Logitech has chosen to use real leather instead of other materials that mimic leather. When you look inside the wheel base, I think they have done a proper job on the materials and parts used in the G29’s construction. On par with other
offerings at this price point. Using a gear driving wheel shaft instead of a belt driven one does produce some cogging.
But it is not as pronounced as the G25 or G27 I think. On the plus side, direct gear drive does seem to provide just a bit more FFB detail than a belt driven wheel. But at the expense of a belt driven wheels smoothness. The pedal set the comes with G29 is a competent set that provides a comfortable driving experience. I haven’t been able to drive in socks for quite sometime, and had forgotten good it felt. The brake pedal feel was a bit tricky for me at first. I’m sure that is because I was coming from a proper pressure sensitive brake pedal system. It wanted to grab at the end of the brake pedal travel. This
because of Logitech’s decision to try and mimic the feel of a load cell brake pedal. I haven’t mapped it yet but there must be a very aggressive curve at the end of the brake pedals travel. Combined with the rubber cube that sits inside of the brakes spring, it is supposed to feel like you are using a brake pedal that is equipped with a load cell. I can tell you for certain that it doesn’t. Some users have pulled out the rubber cube to improve the feel. But you still have the non-linear curve in the firmware to deal with.I wish Logitech would give users a choice on whether or not they want to use the rubber cube. And
provide a firmware with a more linear curve for those users who remove the rubber bumper part. Over all this is wheel
set the will give you a mostly good experience when driving the sim or game of your choice.

EDIT by Toche: Y a ça aussi:

A voir...
Edit, essai de la bête... Pas de loadcell!
