Mais je fabrique la meilleur pizza "homemade" "in the world"
Assuming testing and load testing go well, Time Attack could roll out in June with a preview version of the new application/UI. From the new app/UI you will not be able to do everything in June but hopefully you will be able to do Time Attack, join official races, join time trials, join open practice, join test sessions, join hosted races and hopefully be able to create hosted races. However creating hosted races from the new UI will be tight for June. You still will be able to do all that from the existing site as well. Then as time goes along, the plan is more and more will be in the new UI. For example in June the new UI will not include teams/team functionality, league functionality, stats (other than for Time Attack) and Spectator/ghost racing.
A propos du Time Attack:
- Pas de SR
- Pas de iR
- Pas de conso de fuel
- Pas d'usure des pneus
It does not mention in the video but it should also be noted that we disabled burning any fuel and wearing tires for Time Attack. (Tires will still heat up the same as usual.) Therefore there is no incentive to try and burn fuel or scrub tires to this or that. For example, we did not want people driving slow for 50 laps to burn fuel, then try and run their fast lap. That would take the fun out of it.
We totally understand wanting to know what is coming next or what we are working on. We are always working on dozens of things keep in mind. Because something releases like "Dirt" it does not mean other work has stopped. Some projects take years, other weeks or months.
The Ferrari 488 is in full production along with a number of other cars. Sometimes the work on cars can get stalled, as we wait on key pieces we need, so some cars take longer than others. Also by the nature of cars, some take longer than others and some have a different approval process with our partners and other things like that. There were a couple minor delays for the 488 in regard to things we needed but we are in good shape and like I said the car is in full production.
We keep hearing about this time of day thing. We said all along that for various good reasons we wanted to update to DX11 first in regard to our priority list when it came to day to night. Our senior graphic engineers were on the DX11 project for a long time, it was a very big project, along with the usual day to day projects of supporting everything in the sim graphically. They also made multiple substantial visual improvements in several areas like textures, light levels, physically based lighting, etc. and in the area of performance/frame rates which is extremely important in regard to priorities. Not to mention supporting many new things in the sim, yes they did substantially support the dirt graphics for a period of time along with new things on the outside like hardware, VR etc.
Now back to time of day. In that regard, as mentioned the first step was DX11. Now we are on to the next steps leading up to time of day but those steps are not just about time of day. They are stand-alone important projects that make sense to do in a certain order partially because of time of day. In this next build for example you will notice a new improvement called dynamic cube maps. It will make a big difference visually to iRacing. With this improvement you will see the real environment reflecting off the car for example rather than from a fixed position. The easiest example to understand this improvement is currently when you pass under a bridge, the bridge would not reflect on the car, with this it will. Before if you were driving over grass, the reflection would have been of the road, it was a canned reflection in that case, not anymore. It is a major visual improvement to the sim, making everything more realistic. Think of it as another step towards time of day. There are a few other significant improvements we want to do in regard to lighting/shadows/reflections and we don’t want to do them twice because they will be impacted by the time of day so they make sense to do first. We will get there.
There are other people working on many other visual/graphical/physical projects like animation and damage, etc. who have a different skill set.
